Manu National Park 4D / 3N
In Manu National Park is created in order to preserve its great diversity of flora and fauna and pristine areas, Manu was declared a National Park in 1973, designated as a World Biosphere Reserve in 1977 and became a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. it covers an area of 1.5 million hectares and is one of the largest protected areas in South America. It is located in a spectacular, untouched, southeast of Peru and is possibly the only, accessible piece of virgin forest that exists in the world today; several indigenous tribes who have never had contact with outsiders also still live in the park. To visit the special permits control of the Manu National Park and groups should be led by a qualified guide are required.
DAY 1 CUSCO -PAUCARTAMBO THREE -Mirador Cruces- PILCOPATA
Pick up from hostel 5:30 am about to go on a tourist transportation bound for the province of Paucartambo en route visit the funeral towers or Nina chulpas brand and the colonial town of Paucartambo. Then climb to the viewpoint of three crosses, where all the splendor of the jungle then descend through the mysterious cloud forest full of beautiful orchids, heliconias, bromeliads and ferns is primitive. On the way we stop to observe the presence of Peru’s national bird the cock of the rock (rupicola peruviana) in full mating ritual depending on the time of visit. There is also possibility to observe many species of birds. If we’re lucky we find some mammals and in the afternoon we arrived at our private accommodation in the district of Pilcopata spend the night.
DAY 2 PILCOPATA – ATALAYA – RIO DE ORO LODGE
After a delicious breakfast we continue our journey in our tourist transport, after the tour will start our walks down a path where we will see different species of birds like gluttons, watchmakers, wrens etc. on the way also we observe plantations of coca, citrus and a rescue center for wild animals then continue our journey to the port of Atalaya, where we board our boat for approximately 30 minutes to get to our hostel where we spend the night and in the afternoon we will explore the jungle for two hours along the trails enabled and at night take a night walk to see caimans (optional).
DAY 3 RIO DE ORO LODGE -Lago Machuwasi
After our delicious breakfast we will explore the jungle by an average of 3 to 4 hours before returning to our hostel after lunch in the afternoon we go to vitiate the lake Machuwasi where we will have a light walk to get to the lagoon where we use rafts to sail for about an hour watching a variety of birds, reptiles and mammals, and in the afternoon we returned to our hostel. (Optional night walk)
DAY 4 RIO DE ORO LODGE – PARROTS CLAY LICK – ATALAYA – CUSCO
After our delicious breakfast very early we left our boat to the Collpa where we see three to four species of parrots and small macaws after the visit we return by boat to our hostel and then continue the trip by boat to the port of watchtower where we will be waiting for our mobility to return to Cusco, again through the mysterious cloud forest destined for the imperial city of Cusco.
